Subscriptions Using Localgiving.com

Here's how to pay your subscription via Localgiving.com

Introduction
Subscriptions are made in three parts.
- First, if you are not yet a Localgiving member, create an account.
- The second is your monthly direct debit.
- The third is the 'one-time' donation of £10.

  1. Create an account with Localgiving.
    Go to the Localgiving website at the following link https://localgiving.org/login :
    • Complete your details.
    • Click orange 'Register'.
    • To ensure the following instructions make sense, go to black 'Account' at top right and log out.

  2. Direct Debit.
  3. For both Concessionary and Adult rates.

    Three £10 monthly direct debit payments are required. (We shall advise you when to cancel this direct debit).

    From the 'Members Subscriptions' page of our choir website (http://www.kellychoralsociety.com/members/members_subs.html) click the Localgiving link. You are now on the Mount Kelly Choral Society donations page.

    • Click on blue 'Give monthly'.
    • Enter £10.00 in 'Donation amount'.
    • Tick 'Make it a monthly donation', if not already ticked.
    • Ignore message box.
    • Do not tick 'I wish to donate anonymously'.
    • Enter your email address.
    • Tick or ignore the two update boxes... your choice.
    • Click orange 'Continue'.
    • In pop-up box enter your Localgiving password.
    • Tick orange 'Login'.
    • Select 5th as the first donation date.
    • Tick 'I am the account holder'.
    • Enter account holders full name, sort code and account number.
    • Enter 'Postcode' and address details.
    • Click orange 'Confirm'.
    • A pop-up box appears allowing you to check all the details that you've entered. When you're satisfied, click the 'Confirm the direct debit' button. We will warn you when to cancel the direct debit.
    • If you are eligible for Gift Aid, then check the ' I am a UK tax payer...' box and the ' I will not receive anything...' box, and click the orange'Gift Aid It!' button.
    • If you are not eligable for Gift Aid, click the 'Skip Gift Aid' button.
    • To ensure the following instructions make sense, go to black 'Account' at top right and log out.

  4. One-time donations of £10.

    Concessionary Rate £40

    Make ONE “one-time” donation of £10.
    Do not claim Gift Aid on this donation of £10.

    Adult Rate £50

    Make TWO “one-time” donations of £10.
    On the first, DO NOT claim Gift Aid.
    On the second, DO claim Gift Aid, if eligible.

    From the 'Members Subscriptions' page of our choir website (http://www.kellychoralsociety.com/members/members_subs.html) click the Localgiving link. You are now on the Mount Kelly Choral Society Donations page.
    • Click green 'Donate Now' button.
    • Enter £10.00 in Donation amount.
    • Do not tick 'Make it a monthly donation'.
    • Ignore message box.
    • Do not tick 'I wish to donate anonymously'.
    • Enter your email address.
    • Tick or ignore the two update boxes... your choice.
    • Click orange 'Continue'.
    • In pop-up box enter your Localgiving password.
    • Click orange 'Login'.
    • Enter debit (not credit) card details.
    • Click orange 'Donate'.
    • Scroll to bottom of Gift Aid page.
    • If you pay concessionary £40 sub, do not claim Gift Aid. Click 'Skip Gift Aid'.
    • If you pay full £50 sub, on your first single donation do not claim Gift Aid. For your second single donation of £10, repeat the above procedure and do claim Gift Aid.
    • You've now completed the process and can log out of the Localgiving site from the black 'Account' menu at top of page.

FAQs - Here are some frequently asked questions - I will add any more that arise...

  • Q - I am not a UK tax payer but my partner / friend / acquaintance is... can they pay on my behalf?
    A - No.
  • Q - As my partner and I are both members, may we use our joint account to pay both our subs?
    A - No. The Localgiving system allows only one bank account per person, so a joint account can be used only for the first person. For the second person, please use another account.
  • Q - My friend in the choir hates computers but would still like the choral society to benefit from a Gift Aided subscription. What can he/she do?
